The SMC-22 conference took place on June 8-11, 2022 at Télécom Saint-Étienne at the heart of the Cité du design. Following the Covid-19 pandemic, we proposed a new innovative format for the conference encouraging interactions between attendees as well as between academia and the industry. All paper presentations will have a poster/demo format (short -- 5 mins -- oral presentation followed by a poster/demo session). Each presenter had a booth assigned to him where he was able to carry out demos and talk about his project in the format he chose. A bar remained open during all poster sessions. Pre-recorded video presentations were also made available on the conference website for those attending the conference remotely. Beside that, 20 minutes lightning talks (linked to a paper or not) were offered. General topics related to the field of music technology, sound and music computing, etc. were encouraged. Finally, keynote adresses were offered as well.
The Journées de l'Informatique Musicale (JIM-22) were fully merged into SMC-22. A special half a day session in French targeting young researchers took place at the centre des savoirs pour l'innovation in parallel of the SMC-22 main track.
