The SMC-22 conference will take place on June 8-11, 2022 at Télécom Saint-Étienne at the heart of the Cité du design. Following the Covid-19 pandemic, we will propose a new innovative format for the conference encouraging interactions between attendees as well as between academia and the industry. All paper presentations will have a poster/demo format (short -- 2 mins max -- oral presentation followed by a poster/demo session). Each presenter will have a booth assigned to him where he will be able to carry out demos and talk about his project in the format he will choose. A bar will remain open during all poster sessions. Pre-recorded video presentations will also be made available on the conference website for those attending the conference remotely. Beside that, attendees will be able to submit proposals for 20 minutes lightning talks (linked to a paper or not). General topics related to the field of music technology, sound and music computing, etc. will be encouraged. Only ten lightning talks will be selected to be presented at the conference. Half a day will be dedicated to industry talks on audio and music technology. Finally, keynote speakers will be invited as in previous SMC editions.
The Journées de l'Informatique Musicale (JIM-22) will be fully merged into SMC-22. A special half a day session in French targeting young researchers will take place at the centre des savoirs pour l'innovation in parallel of the SMC-22 main track. The call for this special session will be made as part of the SMC-22 main call.
